Play Face to Face ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by KodingStudioSG, based in Singapore. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you use https://www.playfacetoface.com (the "Website").
Information We Collect
Information you provide
You may contact us via email. When you do, we collect:
- Your email address
- The contents of your message
Optional Mahjong Classroom tutor accounts
Students can join Mahjong Classroom lessons without creating an account. Tutors may optionally create a passwordless tutor account so they can keep lesson history and saved teaching positions between sessions.
For tutor accounts, we may store:
- The tutor's email address
- Lesson metadata such as Mahjong variant, timestamps, duration, status, and student count
- Teaching scenarios or table positions the tutor explicitly saves
Tutor sign-in uses one-time email links. Raw sign-in tokens are not stored in the database; a cryptographic hash is stored and the link becomes invalid after 20 minutes or after it is used.
Optional community organiser accounts and billing
If you register as a community organiser, we store your email address for passwordless sign-in. For paid community plans, we store billing references such as Stripe customer, subscription, price and checkout identifiers, subscription status, and cancellation status so we can manage access to the plan.
Stripe processes checkout and subscription payments under its own privacy policy. You can contact us about your organiser account or billing data using the contact details below.
Automatically collected information
When you visit our Website, certain information may be collected automatically:
- IP address
- Device and browser type
- Pages visited and interactions
- Approximate location (city/region level)
This data is collected via Google Analytics (GA4) and similar analytics tools to help us understand how the site is used and improve performance.
AI assistant and third-party connector use
If you intentionally use Play Face to Face through a supported third-party AI assistant or connector, that service may send us the game you request, player count, supported public game options, general recommendation preferences such as desired duration or complexity, an opaque retry identifier, and a room identifier when checking room status.
We may return public game information, supported rule options, recommendation results, and the information needed to create or join an ephemeral multiplayer room, such as a room identifier, guest join link, short-lived host link, room expiry time, and public joined-player count.
These integrations are not given private cards or tiles, concealed game state, player account credentials, player email addresses, raw player identifiers, or video and audio content. We may record the originating integration (for example, Muse or ChatGPT) and privacy-safe room lifecycle events to understand whether the integration is working.
The third-party assistant handles information you provide to it under its own privacy policy and terms. You do not need a Play Face to Face account to join a game created through a supported connector.
Cookies and Advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Measure traffic and usage patterns
- Serve and measure advertisements via Google AdSense
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve personalized ads based on those visits.

Video and Audio Communication (WebRTC)
The App offers live video and audio chat between players using WebRTC technology.
- Video and audio streams are transmitted peer-to-peer between players whenever possible.
- When direct connection is not possible due to network restrictions, streams may be temporarily relayed through servers hosted on DigitalOcean solely to establish connectivity.
- We do not record, store, analyze, or retain any audio or video data.
- No facial recognition or biometric analysis is performed.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate Website:
- Google Analytics (analytics)
- Google AdSense (advertising)
- Cloudflare (security and performance)
- Simple Analytics (traffic insights)
- DigitalOcean (infrastructure)
- Resend (transactional sign-in email, when configured)
- Stripe (optional paid community subscriptions)
- Supported AI assistant platforms, such as Muse or ChatGPT, when you intentionally use a Play Face to Face connector through that service
These services may process limited technical data as part of providing their services.
Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to:
- Respond to inquiries
- Provide optional tutor accounts, lesson history, and saved teaching positions
- Manage optional community organiser accounts, subscriptions, and billing records
- Comply with legal obligations
- Improve site performance
Tutor account data is retained while the account remains active. Tutors can delete their account from the Mahjong Classroom dashboard; this deletes the tutor account, durable lesson history, saved teaching positions, and outstanding sign-in links. Short-lived live-classroom recovery snapshots are separate operational data and normally expire automatically.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
