Malaysia Mahjong

A 13-tile preset tuned for the Malaysian table. Identical setup to HK and SG here — the differences live in atmosphere, table-talk and house customs more than in the engine rules.

total tiles in the wall

Each player gets 13 tiles.

Malaysia uses the standard 13-tile hand. You'll build four melds plus a pair to win, drawing a 14th tile to complete it.

Three ways to make a set.

These are the building blocks of every winning hand. Same in all four regions.

Chow · 吃

Run · Same suit

Three consecutive numbers in the same suit. Only claimable from the player on your left.

Quartet · Identical

Four identical tiles. After declaring, draw a replacement tile from the wall.

Pair · 對

The eyes

Two identical tiles. Every winning hand needs exactly one pair as its "eyes".

When two players want the same tile.

Multiple players can claim a discard. The engine resolves them in this order — same for all four regions.

Kong
Pung
Chow

Multiple winners on the same discard are allowed — if two or more players can declare a win from one tile, all of them score.

A complete hand needs melds + a pair.

In Malaysia, that's 4 melds + 1 pair = 14 tiles when you win. You can also win on Seven Pairs (七對). Either by drawing your winning tile yourself (zimo / 自摸), or by claiming a tile someone discards.
