Backgammon in a minute

Backgammon is a two-player race on a 24-point board. Roll two dice, move your fifteen checkers home, hit your opponent's lone checkers, and be the first to bear them all off.

  1. Roll two dice and move one checker per die, or one checker twice.
  2. Doubles give you four moves instead of two.
  3. Land on a point with a single opposing checker to hit it and send it to the bar.
  4. Once all your checkers are in your home board, bear them off. First to bear off all fifteen wins.

A checker on the bar must come back in before you move anything else, and you can't land on a point your opponent holds with two or more checkers. When a roll leaves you no legal move, your turn passes.

What's at the table

The room has what two players need, so nobody has to set up a separate call or keep score on paper.

Invite in one tap

Share or copy the room link from the board. Your friend joins from their own browser, with no account.

See each other while you play

Start a video call from the table and each camera sits beside its player. Cameras are optional.

Legal moves shown

Pick a checker and the board highlights where it can go, including bar entry and bearing off.

Practise against the computer

Play a solo game against an AI opponent whenever a friend isn't around.

Can I play Backgammon with one friend?

Yes. Start a private two-player game and send your friend the invite link. Optional video chat can stay beside the board.

Can I practise Backgammon against AI?

Yes. Solo mode gives you a computer-controlled opponent without waiting for another player.

Do we need accounts or downloads?

No. Both players open the game in a modern browser, choose a name and start playing.

Is it free?

Yes. Private rooms, public matches and games against the AI are all free to play.
