Each player begins with ten pieces in one point of the star.
Your destination is the triangle directly opposite your starting area. Pieces stay on the board throughout the game because Chinese Checkers has no captures.

Take one adjacent step or jump over an occupied piece.
A step moves to one neighbouring empty hole. A jump crosses one occupied adjacent hole and lands in the empty hole immediately beyond it.

Link jumps together to cross the board quickly.
After one jump, continue jumping when another legal landing is available. Good positioning creates routes for your own pieces without helping opponents too much.
