- 6×6 grids use digits 1–6 in 2×3 boxes; Expert is a classic 9×9.
- Every grid has one solution. No guessing needed.
Pick a cell, then a digit. Turn on Notes to pencil in options. Arrow keys and number keys work too.
How to play Mini Sudoku, the daily 6×6 sudoku
Mini Sudoku is a quick daily sudoku on a 6×6 grid. Fill every row, every column and every 2×3 box with the digits 1 to 6, each exactly once. A 6×6 sudoku keeps every classic technique but takes a few minutes instead of half an hour. On Sundays the daily is a full 9×9 sudoku with the digits 1 to 9 in 3×3 boxes.
A new grid goes live at midnight in your time zone, easy at the start of the week and harder towards the weekend.
Strategy tips
- Look for naked singles. A cell whose row, column and box already hold every other digit can take only one value.
- Look for hidden singles. When a digit fits in only one cell of a row, column or box, it goes there, even if that cell has other options.
- Pencil in notes. On harder grids, turn on Notes and write the candidates in each cell.
- Use pairs and locked candidates. Two cells in a line that can only hold the same two digits claim them, and a digit locked to one line inside a box can be removed from the rest of that line.
